Chikumbuso is a great Nyanja word which means remembrance. Remember what was done for you , remember to help others, remember that you are not alone in your struggle. The Chikumbuso project began as a response to the AIDS endemic. It is a grassroots project which helps those who are reeling from the overwhelming effects of AIDS. It began as a widows project and has evolved to include a free school for orphans, an outreach to grandmothers, and a single mom's skill training project.
Many of our supporters have asked for a website... this will be our initial effort into the world wide web. It is our hope to post pictures, letters from the orphans, and musings from our time in Ng'ombe.
